The AFM of Kazakhstan has identified an illegal cryptocurrency mining farm on the territory of a production base in the city of Temirtau.
The devices were located in metal containers.
During searches at the facility, 156 ASIC miners and other components were found and seized.
A pre-trial investigation is underway.
Since the beginning of 2024, the agency has identified 11 facts of the organization of illegal mining farms, the total amount of criminal income of which amounted to almost 440 million tenge (over $839,600). During the investigation, equipment worth 269 million tenge (~$513,300), as well as digital assets worth 373 million tenge (~$711,800) were arrested.
In only two criminal cases sent to court, the total criminal income amounted to 216 million tenge (~$412,200). As part of these cases, property worth 1.1 billion tenge ($2.09 million) and digital assets worth more than 30 million tenge (~$57,200) were seized.
