Idea to avoid leeches

I'm new but I have a suggestion to avoid leeches, or people who only enter the forum to take content without contributing anything to the forum in return.

Idea
New users can't see hidden content, they have to wait some time, say 1 week or so. 

What do you think guys

Hmm, I don't think that could work well. First they will probably lose users second of all they can still leech.

This doesn't stop leeching, it just makes it one week slower.
