VPN
The first thing you probably thought of when thinking about security is VPN. I guess you don't need explanation what is it. We'll focus on the provider, that's the most important for us. We don't want anyone to keep logs, it creates an opportunity for feds to compromise our privacy.
Mullvad VPN - top 1 currently
Pay with crypto purchased privately (not from coinbase which has your name attached)
Browser
Since we don't want anyone to spy on us, we shouldn't use google. Yeah, it usually gives the best results, but in return we pay with privacy. You can't imagine how much they know about you.
My personal choice was degoogled chromium browser with few addons (the less the better) UBlock should be enough for you.
If you prefer firefox, there are few open source releases focused on privacy
- waterfox
- librewolf
RDP/VPS
So you're about to download something from any forum, or visit some unknown site? Never do it on your own pc, it's the easiest way to get ratted.
Instead of that, buy rdp for 10$ and dw abt shit.
If you can't invest anything, use https://app.apponfly.com/trial works slow af, but you can easily dowload few programs on each session
Email provider
- riseup.net (invite)
- onionmail.org (free)
- proton.me (crap)
Password
Never use the same on multiple sites and use password manager to store them
- Keepass
Friends
You don't tell them shit, keep everything private and don't be silly.
That's basically all you need to begin with. Now all that's left for me to do is to wish you good luck.
