I'd love to try one of these services, but I'm skeptical as I don't know how they're actually done.

It's pretty safe, because we don't use Credit cards for bookings! I book all flights on my own accounts with Points/Miles. So I can 100% guarantee that you will experience a smooth flight. I have been using it for my own Trips as well! I am currently in Dubai and before that in Thailand :)
