Personally I just ignore the cameras completely, I just take something, go to some spot where no one will see, make sure no ones watching and put it in my backpack.
I don't even know if the cameras are real or not, Ive been doing it for a couple of months and nothings happened.
One of my friends got caught, not by cameras but the employees, they just told him to show his pockets but the item he stole was in his backpack and they didn't check it so I don't think the employees can do much.

My tip is, act like a normal customer and don't overthink things.

Take a senior in with you or try and make yourself look like a senior with grey hair and old-timey clothes and big glasses.  If you're a dude, maybe wear a grey moustache.  Stores hardly ever check seniors for theft I think.
