• What matters a lot in pvp, are the clicks. You could enter those pages that measure how many clicks you give per minute / second. The average Minecraft clicks in pvp is: 20s.
  
• Play with the FOV and the field of vision. Also of sensitivity.
  
• Try a texture pack that fits your FPS.
  
• Have a good internet for a good ping.
  
• Many recommend using a client hacked. I recommend that in which case you do not want, look for a pvp client.
  
• And good luck with everything else. Don't forget the critics and the crazy jumps

Don't spam your attacks, time it alongside the attack rate of your weapon.
Use your terrain, parkour around blocks or place stuff between you and your opponent.
Remember to use your shield before countering with your weapon.
Kiting is key, especially if you time your blocks while doing so.
