What really bothers me is one of the ladies in the restaurant, who seems to be the manager or owner, in her mid 40s. First of all, we came to the restaurant sometime between 2:00-3:00 PM and there was plenty of space in the restaurant. She first asked us to sit at the bar , then asked us whether we wanted to split the table with the other two guests. During that time the restaurant only has three tables of guests. Then here came another manager and he helped us switch the table and he said the place she gave it to us 'is the worst decision'.When we were about to order, she came to the table next to us and started to recommend dessert to them, I only overheard some words like 'used to be french colony' and after that she passed by our table then she stared at me directly without any facial expressions. That woman passed by our table several times and she did not serve us, however, everytime she passed by, she stared at me directly. I smile back to her but nothing else came back, only coldness and somehow arrogant in her face. I have never been stared at directly with intense uncomfortable feelings in my entire life. Back to the food, the food is really average, I spent four years and a half in the Europe and visited France several times, even the very basic family-run restaurant can do something better than this, the muscle we had still contains sand within it. Don't even mention this kind of descrimination feelings I had in La Palette. In general, the independent restaurants in Toronto are in fierce competition, the Queen West alone has several outstanding choices to pick. Despite only one staff in the store giving me bad feelings and the rest seemed friendly, after looking at the other bad-services comments of this restaurant, I simply would never visit it twice.
