Are electric grills worth it?

I would like to start grilling, but I live in an apartment where gas/charcoal grills are not allowed. I have been looking into electric grills, which are allowed, but I'm not sure that it's worth it. It seems like they're essentially just an electric stove with a grill pan, and I already have an electric stove/oven.

Is it worth it to invest in an electric grill? If so, does anyone have any recommendations for relatively inexpensive grills that are suited for outdoor use?

It's hard to say but particularly yes. I have, plenty of times. The non-stick level is nowhere near that of Teflon or anodized aluminum. Even when I coat it with 3 tbsp of butter, Dutch babies always stick a little bit in the middle. This never happens with my enameled cast iron, even with just 1 tbsp of butter.
