Compulsory reading of few announcements

Similar incident had taken place few months back when Cracked was associated with Ring Camera and was all over the news and this time its Zoom services. I have been to few unnamed forums which make it compulsory to read the announcement when they are made and acknowledge it by clicking on a button. On the unnamed forum, a user would not be allowed to visit other links till he/she has acknowledged that announcement. I think such practice could help both the user and the staff in event of any violation of the rules leading to ban.
