Computer parts have indeed become less available in recent years due to several factors:
  1. Global chip shortage: The semiconductor industry has been facing a significant shortage of chips since 2020, affecting the production of various computer components this shortage was caused by a combination of factors, including:
    • Increased demand for consumer electronics during the COVID-19 pandemic
    • Manufacturing disruptions due to lockdowns and other pandemic-related issues
    • Supply chain disruptions
    • Geopolitical tensions
  2. Increased demand: The shift to remote work and online activities during the pandemic increased demand for computers and related hardware for example, Lenovo shipped 87 million computers in 2020 and is expected to ship 300 million in 2021, a significant increase.
  3. Production challenges: Many computer components are manufactured in Asia, particularly in countries like China and Taiwan. These regions were among the first to be impacted by the pandemic, leading to factory shutdowns and production delays.
  4. Supply chain issues: The global supply chain for computer parts has been disrupted, making it harder to obtain the necessary components for manufacturing
  5. Scalping and price gouging: The scarcity of components has led to scalpers using bots to buy up available stock and resell at inflated prices, further reducing availability for regular consumers and businesses.

This is a bump
