What do you think differentiates between people who make it vs people who don't? Consistency? being early? work ethic? network? IQ? relentlessness?
I think every one of them plays a part but I think the most important thing imo is the ability to take risks with the chance of humiliation/failure combined with a high stress tolerance.
Whether it's on a macro level like investing or creating a business or on something like asking out the girl you like, it all requires taking risk.

This post is probably gonna be buried under all the spam but I'm genuinely curious of different views on it. What are your experiences/observations have been?

I'd say it's a mix of all of those things. High stress tolerance is probably one of the most important things that is true. It's the reason why you see people who grew up privileged completely dumbstruck when it comes to doing anything by yourself. But people who grew up less fortunate they had to figure everything out early on and had to work their way out of the trenches to survive. Consistency is important but if you excel in those other characteristics it's not really necessary.
