Encro Chat hacked by law enforcement

The National Crime Agency in the UK have successfully hacked Encro Chat which was used by many criminals. Many arrests were also made in this regard. They are calling this one of the biggest bust in UK history. It was said to have been cracked by French officials. Once the news hit members and they started getting alert. They did massive arrests all over the UK.

Yes i saw this on BBC news its pretty alarming knowing that they can crack an encrypted chat and then knowing that they can pretty much crack anything else know

What was more alarming is that this encro chat was not like an app on any phone. They had their own phones with their speakers, microphones and camera removed/disabled to make it more secure. No wonder more than 60,000 people were using this. About 10,000 in the UK alone and over 700 were arrested over this. 

Considering this, I don't think a simple VPN is going to give us privacy like many believe.

Whilst that is all well and good, hardware (or lack of) is meaningless if the software isn't solid.  Should stick to tried and tested encryption like PGP if you're going to go to those lengths to try and ensure privacy.

Privacy is no longer a thing in this world. Police have unmatched resources that will be able to decrypt the impossible eventually.
