Four men arrested by Tamil Nadu police for a multi-state SIM-swap scam. Fraudsters hacked the hospital’s official mail ID. They used it to get SIM cards for numbers connected to bank accounts that dispensed the staff's salary. Cops retrieved 154 debit cards, 105 SIM cards, 128 Aadhaar cards and 22 fake PAN cards. The money swindled was deposited in 16 different bank accounts in West Bengal. It raised serious questions about identity theft in the digital space and the need to secure it.
