Hey gang - I am new to buying crypto and transacting with it. Was thinking about using paypal as my crypto wallet, is that a good choice? is there a better one?

Do not use paypal! Paypal is for holding crypto only, you can not send or deposit to other addresses which is very stupid.
I would recommend Crypto.com, Coinbase or Blockchain.com
