The referer is part of an HTML request, as it is sent by the browser, for example, when clicking on a link. In particular, the referer gives the server information on which website the user is currently located, which makes the request. The information that a site was potentially opened from this forum should not be known to the destination, so I suggest before any link posted on this forum to run the request first through a service that explicitly covers up the referer. Instead of using a service like https://dereferer.me/, it is also possible to hide the referer by simple HTML programming (more like adding one-liners to every webpage).

Not hiding the referer is a privacy-concern that the forum should think about in my opinion. If you agree with me, please write an comment or just tell me what you think about this.
