Good to see other people questioning such things.

Everybodys doing it on their own way, I guess. The way you described it is probably one of the most common ways, but I've seen movies ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) where I was like "how tf do you call that showering?". They'd basicly soap theirselves while standing under the showerhead with the water instantly flushing it away.

There should be other, more important things, you should question though.
