Hi.

HTTP proxies are what can also commonly be referred to as intelligent proxies, as they are able to understand and make sense of the data that they are transferring from one point to another. This also applies to HTTPS. HTTPS is similar to HTTP but offers a more secure connection by utilizing SSL encryption of the data being transported over the connection so in the event there is an interception in the traffic and your data is sniffed by a third party.

The data would be obfuscated to the attacker and would require additional means of procuring/obtaining your personal information. It wouldn't make it as easier as simply having the data displayed in plain text readable format right after intercepting and receiving the packets you sniffed from the connection.

SOCKS 4/5 proxies are known for their simplicity of socks protocol, as well as their security and anonymity which they provide. These protocols are incapable of understanding the data which you are parsing over their connection, and have implentations of additional security features, SOCKS5 more so than SOCKS4.

SOCKS4a would imply a proxy over the SOCKS4 protocol requiring authorization before sending data across it's connection.

Don't become confused with the difference between a proxy and a protocol though, as many do. A proxy is capable of receiving and handling multiple different kinds of protocols for how to request and send data over it's connection. for example, 1 proxy is capable of transferring data over it's connection under any protocols prior stated throughout my past, although more uncommon to see supported, is quite possible and available from some providers.

In terms of
cracking you would be best off likely using SOCKS4 unless your target requires special attention in regards to filtration of requests, and advanced filters sat in place to prevent saturated proxy addresses from requesting data from it's server via the firewall rules. Some sites iwll only allow requests for some services for a select region of IPv4 addresses, or within a specific geolocation.

A VPN is a virtual private network composed of many different servers contributing multiple avenues of connections and IPv4 addresses to route your traffic through, where as a proxy is an extraction of a singular one of these so to speak where you will not have an entire network relaying your traffic but rather a more so of a straight tunnel than a series of turns through a maze.

There are many more technicalities which I could explain to you, and whomever else that wishes to speak with me. If anyone who takes the time to read this reply feels the urge to seek discussion,

Goodluck out there.
