Hi,

I'm Perileos - C.TO's cofounder. Florain and me came with the idea of C.TO in January 2018, where Flo suggested that I should build a new forum. I was recently scammed of my old forum (was abroad, left it to someone else) along with a sizeable amount of money. I did not wanted to build a forum because I did not wanted to deal with possible law enforcements etc, that's when Flo decided to build Cracked.to. Flo and me decided we part ways several times but I would help out with an advisory type of role from time to time. Same as helping out with moderating/administrating.

Ask me anything related to how C.TO started.

How hard was it to get rep in the early days (10k members)

To be frank I am not aware, as I was an administrator and not a regular member. We weren't able of being given reputation and to be frank, did not care.

I believe it is maintaining the hype, pre launch there is always a hype. Most of the first members came from Nulled and knew Flo/me from there and thus, hype was also spread on Nulled. However once you launch, the hype wears off as it isn't new anymore etc. People use forums because of network, if there are no active people, it won't bring in active people if that makes sense. So we were focused on maintaining the hype after launch, Flo and me spent days spamming on websites, purchasing advertisements on other forums and so on - just to get more members.

How did you tread the fine line of legality as the site grew?
