What is a proxy?

• Proxy is a substitution, stand-in, that acts as an intermediary for request.

Lets move on to types of protocol and what are they.

• HTTP
  
• HTTPS

HTTP are the one we sees them as HTTP://.
You roughly get the idea for HTTP but now lets move on to HTTPS. 
HTTPS sites will only work with proxies that are SSL supported. So it can validate the SSL and have access to it.

Let's move on further to types of proxy.
HTTP Elite - It contains all type of HTTP proxies with anonymity like transparent/anonymous/elite  & some includes TCP tunnel based proxy to access HTTPS sites without even validating  SSL.
SSL(Secure Sockets Layer) - HTTPS Accessible
SOCKS4/5 - SOCKS4 / SOCKS5 both belong to SOCKS protocol. It is the concrete supportive application that distinguishes them. SOCKS4 only supports TCP application, while SOCKS5 supports TCP and UDP application.

There are the main types of proxies.

It depends on what type of sites you looking to crack. If the site starts with HTTP:// then you should use HTTP Elite/Anonymous proxies, socks4/5 would work too. 

If with HTTPS:// then use a SSL proxies or HTTP Elite as some are TCP tunnel based proxy.

What you learn from here are things like type of proxies you should use to get better results, let's re-analyze again.

HTTP Sites ( HTTP:// ) - Use normal scrapped HTTP Proxies, Elite/Anonymous level. ( Try not to use Transparent )
HTTPS Sites ( HTTPS:// ) - Use SSL supported, Socks 5/4, HTTP proxies could be able to if they are TCP tunnel based.
