Linux: A solo developer is attempting to clean up 30 years of mess

Ingo Molnar has announced the “Fast Kernel Headers” project to clean up and rework Linux kernel's header hierarchy and header dependencies. Linux developers will be able to compile faster than ever, making it easier and quicker to improve, patch, and upgrade the much-loved OS. The project could take making 2,200 commit changes to the code. The changes will affect 25,000 files, 178,000 insertions and 74,000 deletions and affect almost every Linux program.
