Metasploit Exploit on Internet

I want to exploit target which is on WAN not on LAN
when i tried to exploit, it just fails.
I tried searching this problem and found some solution still ..not enough

I am on NAT ..so i tired ngrok to port forward and set lhost to ngrok address
and ran exploit
i got error, saying exploit competed, meterperter session 1 closed reason died..why??
someone help...
