A Linux distribution based on Slackware Linux that focuses on desktop use, so it's ready to go for Internet, multimedia, document editing and general home use. Absolute Linux is a very lightweight distribution,
which means it still runs optimally on older hardware and even with very low system resources - including the latest software such as Kodi, Inkscape, GIMP, LibreOffice, Calibre, etc.
The distribution is version compatible with Slackware Linux, so almost any package of the same version can be installed, automatically providing the appropriate development libraries (headers) in the system.
This allows users to modify and/or recompile the source code at any time if there is a need to do so.
