According to the investigation, the accused, having learned that a businessman from Sochi wanted to buy one thousand tons of tangerines in Georgia, offered to act as an intermediary to assist in the purchase and delivery of the fruit. The businessman agreed and transferred him almost 42 million rubles, but never received the citrus fruits.
In turn, the offender stopped communicating and spent the money he received from the victim at his own discretion.
The criminal case was provided by the regional police.
During the investigation of the criminal case, initiated under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the accused was remanded in custody. The materials with the approved indictment have now been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
