Discord has announced a new username system update that will remove the four-digit discriminators at the end of the username. The new system will give everyone a unique username, much like Twitter, Instagram, and other services. Users will need to change their username to something more unique, with restrictions. The changes are applied immediately, and the new username will show up on all servers, chats, and more as soon as you update your username. However, in some cases, it may take some time for the changes to show up. The company aims to make it easier for users to identify and add their friends while preserving their ability to use their preferred name across Discord.
Why this is troubling to the forum? Because I 'am sure people will abuse this update to impersonate others into scamming, make sure when the update comes you change your username on your profile to imitate your new discord one that you will have after the discord username update and also warn others about potential imitators that will most likely try taking advantage of the new update, stay safe and don't get scammed :)
