I'm just asking because I see so many people using it to crack but what's a config? help a rookie!

A set of instructions that you load into a checker (OpenBullet, Sentry MBA, etc.) to instruct it on how to perform a bruteforce attack (crack) against a service with a given list of combinations (combolist).

No, OpenBullet is the tool but it doesn't do anything by itself. If you load a Netflix config, you're telling OpenBullet you're targeting Netflix.
All configs require a list of either username:password or email:password combinations (combolist) but not all configs require proxies (proxylist).

In this case, a checker is kind of like a barebones cracker into which you load instructions or configs then? Just that I've never heard it in a conversation before as English is not my native language. Thank you in advance!

i think you got it right. checkers test creds on websites, and need configs to work. still learning, so correct me if im wrong. btw, your english is great
