Do not use a VPN. VPN services are a literal scam and just a ugly knock off Proxy's.
Literally the same concept just VPN services ask you to pay 5-10$ which if you're doing something illegal and they end up recieveing a court request for something illegal you've done in 4/5 cases they will hand your info too.
That goes for other stuff too not only VPN's. it olso goes for emails. protonmail.com is thought to be a safe email but its literally the same as any email that sells are your information.
How can you use a Safe VPN and email?
You host your own Proxy instead of VPN and buy a domain and host your only email service. Only way to have respected privacy.
with hosting your own mail/proxy you risk your provider having to rat you out. isnt getting a proxy service/mail service thats outside of western jurisdiction enough tho. those companies arent really forced to leak into to feds if they dont have to.
yeah but doing illegal activity, which what this whole forum is about is something the feds care. im 100% sure 99% of vpn's will tell the reply to any court requests for a user information
One of the most trusted email services thats known to not do that is protonmail. They recently did that.
You said the provider can rat you out which is a possiblity, but if you choose the right one and have good security where the feds won't get your email and have a court case is a better solution.
Im not sure about this one but according to my very little research, europe has some privacy laws and they can choose not to leak a users information, unsure about this. Will look more into it later.
you defenitly have a point tho
