Heyo!! I'm new to both this forum and kali linux! any good suggestions on programs i should get for hacking on kali linux?

Kali has a lot of pentesting tools pre installed.
Think about Metasploit, burpsuite and so forth.
It's worth it to mess around with Metasploit to learn hacking. Once you've learned Metasploit most other Kali Linux tools become much easier to work with. Hope this helped you out!

Ill list some simple ones to get you a taste:

Try capturing a wifi handshake with bettercap, then cracking the handshake.
Use social engineering toolkit, play around with it
Try a man in the middle with ettercap (This is ettercap not bettercap)
