Daytrading is a extremely high risk investment that will probably make you lose a lot of money.

Long term investments, on the other hand, can outplay that risk with: fundamental analisis of a company, divesification of your stocks and the reinvestment of dividends.

THINGS YOU NEED TO START BUYING STOCKS:

1 - A broker account
2 - Basic knowledge of financal demonstration
3 - Money to buy stocks (save each month some money for this)
4 - Time to analize good companies and organize your wallet
5 - An excel sheet with your current stocks and its percentage to ajust it towards an ideal stock wallet

RULES OF THE BUY AND HOLD STRATEGY:
1 - NEVER SELL (only if the company lost is fundamentals and you no longer belive that it will prevail in the market)
2 - Don't give a s*** about short term variation. IT DOESN'T MATTER!! IF THE COMPANY IS GOOD THEN THE STOCK PRICE WILL FOLLOW ITS PROFIT
3 - Search about REITs and ETFs they are really good options for divesification.
4 - YOU BUY A STOCK YOU ARE THE BOSS, that means you recive part of the company profit (DIVIDENDS). Use them to buy more stocks and snowball your investments

I use this one. It also has american companies like wallmart, nvidia, p&g, visa, etc...

I pay $4 per month, but you could search for a free one.
