what's a good method to making a social media site like twitter?

i wanted to make this site as a joke for the whole bankpopaccounts hashtag on twitter but then thought it would be really cool to own a social media platform and have people actually use it. i have a tiny bit of coding experience and wanted to know if theres a simple way of doing this or if it has to be done from scratch

You can probably find some scripts for that on codecanyon. Though running one yourself could be hard to find people etc
