Boxing and scanning are tools for manipulating parcel tracking, allowing you to simulate the return of a parcel to the seller, its damage or loss. The modified tracking as a result of the use of boxing or scanning is called FTID (fake tracking id) - a fake tracking identifier.

The main types of boxing:
LIT (lost in transit) - the status of the parcel will indicate that the parcel has been sent and is on the way. A package with an edited label according to the LIT method looks like a package whose address information cannot be determined. Any manual LIT has a risk of being detected and delivered. In the case of scanning, there is no such risk. For the store, this will mean that the return package has been sent and is on its way.
FTIDv3 (fake tracking ID v3) - the status of the parcel will indicate that the parcel has been delivered. This is the most popular version of the FTID used for returnable labels. A package with an edited label according to the FTIDv3 method can be detected and replaced with the original label, just like any ordinary package, it can be damaged, lost, delayed in transit. For the store, this will mean that the parcel has the status of delivered, but has not been scanned in the warehouse.
RTS (return to sender) - the status of the parcel will indicate that the parcel has not been delivered to the recipient and is being returned to the sender. This type of FTID is used for the parcel sent to you from the store. For the store, this will mean that the parcel was not delivered to the customer for various reasons and is being returned to the store.
FTDNA (fake tracking did not arrive) - the status of the parcel will indicate that the parcel was delivered to an address other than the original one. Another name for FTDNA is reroute. This type of FTID is used for the parcel sent to you from the store. For the store, this will mean that the parcel was not delivered to the customer for various reasons and was delivered to another address.
Scans.
Scanning is performed using access to the courier service's internal tracking management system. In this case, no physical shipment is made, the tracking status is changed via the control panel of the courier system. For example, you can update the status of the shipment as if the parcel was returned to the sender, lost, damaged, impossible to deliver, and so on, and use these statuses as an argument to receive a refund. Scanning is a more reliable solution compared to physically sending labels, so the cost of scanning is significantly higher.
It is not possible for all courier services and not in all countries to make all or most types of FTID for technical reasons, due to high risk or unstable execution.
Relable - replacing the edited label with the original one. After that, you can request a new label from the store.
