How does leeching work?

Hey i am new here and don't exactly know what leeching is..

Yesterday i posted on a thread for some resources and those were not helpful for me so i didn't give a like to the thread and today i got a Leeching warning for that..

So i was wondering how leeching works? Do i have to like every thread? Please help

Leeching is basically when you just use the resources which can include tools, accounts, tutorials etc without contributing back to the community. For most cases, the very high number of posts in contrast to the thread numbers makes it obvious that a user has been leeching of the forum.
