ExpressVPN - logs timestamp and bandwidth
NordVPN - unverifiable logging policy, deceptive marketing, aggressive affiliate marketing, google tracking embedded on website, it's a shell company registered in Panama and nobody knows who really operates it.
ProtonVPN - slow speed, logs timestamp
SurfShark - relatively new company, while they claim to have 0 logging policy, it has not been verified yet.

Even Mullvad is a much better option, privacy wise, than all of the above even though it is under the jurisdiction of Fourteen Eyes.

Two of the things you said about NordVPN can easily be explained with a quick search.

In November 2018, NordVPN announced that one of the Big Four accounting firms had performed an independent audit of its no-log policy. As part of an agreement with the auditing firm, its name was kept confidential and the full audit report made available only to existing NordVPN users and pre-selected journalists. According to the publicly shared information, the audit report confirmed that the company did not store personal IP addresses nor keep a log of internet activities of its subscribers as of November 1st, 2018. In February 2019, NordVPN revealed in its blog that the audit had been performed by the Swiss branch of Pricewateehouse coopers

NordVPN was established in 2012 by "four childhood friends", as stated by its website.

I believe Surfshark is a great choice but PIA has already proven that they do not log nothing ... they’ve already been served with a court order in the U.S. and yet they didn’t give a sh*t about it!

That is the reason why people should be scared of it.. law enforcement agencies tend to take the control over on such anonymizing services to see what is actually going on there ... what if it’s the FBI running it already .. and that is the reason why we haven’t been able to see a single court order being served for them ? ( unlike PIA )
