Humans are, by nature, social creatures. It would be possible to live, just like it is possible to live without certain foods, but it would be impossible to thrive.

You can survive, but that's about it. But the point of life isn't to merely survive, but to flourished and fulfill your full capacity and potential because living just to survive is a life wasted.

Yes since I moved out of my country, I don't often see my friends (maybe 1 every 1/2 years). I am only with my wife and I am happy with it.
But I believe it all depends of your personality and what you like to do.
