If it's online you want Battlefield type games are pretty good. You can just jump in and play without really needed to invest much. I've been digging Battlefront 2 since I caught it on sale.

Red dead redemption 2 is great for the single player story/immersiveness. If you enjoy cowboy westerns then you should enjoy it. I wasn't really into the online content so can't comment on that aspect.
