I purchased a custom website thru Sam. His quality is decent based on his pricing. But unfortunately his overall customer support and time management is not. Every single time deadline he ever gave was never accurate and to make it even better he would then pass the blame on me. “Stuff happens”, “You have to understand other people have problems too”, “you’re inpatient”. Even with the price being low and quality being half way decent, I would not work with Sam again, he will never update unless you specifically ask and bother him, and gets annoyed if you ask for a few updates a week while he is working on the project (so I have no clue how he expects the customer to like the finished project because he hardly ever runs anything by them).
Site had 2 week deadline, he swore up and down it would be done in 2 weeks. He didn’t start working on it until 7-8 days into that time frame. He reached out maybe twice during that whole time on his own with updates, without me asking for them. He got annoyed probably 3-4 times that I asked for updates. He tells me if I pay him an additional $100 he can have a friend help him and he would get it delivered a few days early. Don’t hear from him at all for a few days until it begins getting closer to the deadline. Deadline comes up, he doesn’t have it done. Few days after deadline he reached out that it is ready to go live. Not to mention, every single update he has done on the site since has been late, even the ones I paid for. He will say “bro I promise I’ll get done today”, then i don’t hear from him for several days, just to find out he didn’t even start yet. I pay for a payment processing update to be added, 3 weeks in advance, once the deadline comes he says his developer had a death in the family on the day of the deadline. Sure things happen, but what type of coincidence is that. He tries to claim that all the update files are done and he just needs to bug test and push, wait 2 days longer and still absolutely nothing. I contact him, he gets annoyed with me basically saying I’m not sympathetic.
I am a paying customer, that had been nothing but patient and understanding of delays and issues with the site. But, I just think anyone who is thinking about going with Sam deserves to know that, the quality will be pretty decent for the price but you will have many issues with it until he finally gets around to fixing them, he will never follow a single deadline he sets, he will blame you for being impatient, and he will not actively update you unless you annoy tf out of him like I did. Will not be dealing with him further.
