Best NAS enclosure?

Looking for a reliable NAS Enclosure and recommendations?

Looking at Synology DS218 with WD red drives

I suggest just building a PC and turning that into a NAS. It's a little bit more difficult but you have a lot more control and can do a lot cooler stuff with it. You're basically building a server. I have this setup and  have my own dedicated cracking VM that's on 24/7.

If you want things to be really easy to do use unRAID. If you're more tech savvy use FreeNAS. 

Just get a motherboard and case with 6 SATA ports/slots. 4 will be okay if you just get a PCI SATA expansion card.

Thanks have turned to this Free NAS route but also looking at off the shelf Synology DS218. Have a few older PC's so may try a project first.
