Just the solid form of carbon dioxide, it's "special" because it can be fairly dangerous.

Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide, Dry ice is colder than regular wet ice which quickly cools or freezes items and keeps them colder longer.

Pretty simply put, don't use it, in most countries it's illegal to ship and very easy to catch, I'd suggest boxing with rolls of tape instead of dry ice.

That also works, but think of it, would an average postal worker/package thief have heavy metal on hand to replace the stolen item with?
