I also agree with @DigiProfits on the fact that there are many users that sell ebooks but have no idea what they are talking about and their product is misleading, low quality, and public. But this does not mean that this is the case with every ebook seller. Speaking as someone that has an "Approved" ebook listing at the other forum mentioned in the thread, I am in support of the idea to have a team of high quality and honest reviewers that make sure the product is not shitty is worth the price.
@Fonollosa has made a good point that scammers/psychopaths can not scam more than a few people as immediate action will be made against their account. Also, his suggestion to make old scam reports publicly visible makes complete sense for transparency in the marketplace.
The scam ebook sellers are still the main issue here as they also give a bad image to honest and high-quality ebook sellers and ruin the market for everyone. Therefore I think having more transparency in the marketplace will be in the best interest of both buyers and sellers as it will ultimately lead to both parties having more trust for each other.
