In any case, it is interesting to me how the authorities detected the admin. It seems to me that it was for something else and not for something as simple as an IP leak or an email.

I have read that when **DeadForums** (to quote OP) was siezed the FBI managed to get the database (obviously) and there was a conversation between him and the owner where he was talking about a leak that had his personal email. I guess that would surely be a good lead to an investigation.
Tbh i also cannot 100% vouch if this is true or cap.

But sometimes you think that someone ratting him out or the feds using other means to get him sound pretty plausible.
