idk if this is just me but an all cash diet kind of has the opposite intended effect since i'm not encouraged to spend less if it doesn't show on my bank balance. 

if you're responsible with spending learning how to use credit cards to your advantage can be massively beneficial as long as you treat them like a debit card. a good credit score does so much for you
