I'm sorry for your loss.

A friend of mine once got in the same situation. He got a bill from PayPal but never paid it. Haven't heard from it since, and that's 6-7 years ago back in ~2014.
So, as ArticProtector said, simply forget about that PayPal account.

You can either pay paypal the money & keep your account 
or just forget about this paypal account & dont pay them shit. If you do this i would suggest removing any bank / cc & phone attached to it
as this will be unable when your banned cuz of -balance so you can use them for a new one

Don't pay anything to them, forget about that paypal forever.
You will most probably get called by some people from companies that pp assigned to recover the negative funds of any accounts.
They will threat you but they won't do anything. So don't worry about anything.
