Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development, Rockstar Games has officially confirmed.
The long awaited sequel comes almost a decade after the release of the wildly successful GTA V in 2013.
In a statement, the developer said:
With the unprecedented longevity of GTAV, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.
Rumours of an upcoming GTA sequel have been circulating for ages now, so confirmation that one is actually in the works won’t come as a surprise to fans of the series.
Aside from putting an end to speculation over whether we’d be getting a follow up to one of the best selling games of all time, Rockstar is still pretty sparse on the details, with no information yet as to a potential release date or what we might be able to expect from GTA 6.
