Well, if they broke into your database, then it's definitely a hack, and a very dangerous one at that. It's called a sql injection hack. If you are interested, read more here https://qawerk.com/blog/what-is-sql-injection/ , you urgently need to do something about it to prevent things from getting even worse. Be safe, there are a lot of evil people in the world right now!
