I found these eBooks that explain how to say secure, and thought it would be a good read for the community. If the links no longer work contact me and I will update them.
This first one explains encryption, alternatives to software, how to protect logins, and some other things. Some of the links don't work anymore but the knowledge is transferable, and it is 96 pages long.
This next one shows how to secure your device and install a virtual machine in a hidden partition that can only connect to the internet via TOR. It is quite overkill, but worth it to some people that want as little compromises and is 29 pages long.
