Probably a US thing , but here in the UK likely will just ask some questions like what was up with it bla bla bla.

However if you just collect within +20 mins of it being ready they will not accept it being cold etc , here in UK its stored on a hot-shelf when waiting so does not go cold , as for taste if a pizza is bad or not to standard its usually remade before collection anyway.

Best excuse would probably to say something about the sauce and dough being very chewy they do not seem to question that.
