I just downloaded TTStateCleanup.zip and I'm ready to work. Awesome tutorial, by the way, thanks. Usually, itemized deductions enable me to reduce my income tax bill, but I've been looking for other options too. I've never done this before, so I'm still learning how to use it, but your tutorial is very explicit and I also found some other posts about TurboTax, and I think I'm good. I also discovered dnsSpy-net here, and it seems to be great, so that's a great find for me, and I bet for other users too.

Initially listed instruction works except for #8 - i played around with it and I think ended up deleting everything except for "return true" to "return false"

I managed to hack it to work, however, I have the basic (Individual) version from Demonoid and I don't know how to switch to the Home and Business version. I tried the options on the "Help" menu to get it to switch, but it doesn't switch to the Home and Business version. Does anyone know?
Here is how I hacked it:
Intuit.Ctg.Wte.Service.Startup
(Edit C# Class)
> _productActivated: private bool _productActivated -> Try changing this to private static bool _productActivated = true;
... then you will get a compile error when you click the "Compile" button.
(Edit C# Methods)
    > get_ProductActivated -> Try changing this to always return true;
    > set_ProductActivated -> Try changing this blank;
Compile + Save Module + Exit dnSpy
Then, when TurboTax 2021 is launched, it still brings up the Activation Window:
Type any garbage for the 16-character license code and click the "Activate TurboTax" button.
You will get a message saying, "The license code you entered is not valid. Error code: 607"
Just click the "X" on the top right of the window to close it, and TurboTax starts, seems like it activated!

Is there anyway you can be more precise with the guide's instructions? First, "Intuit.Ctg.Wte.Service.Startup" doesn't show any of the options in your instructions, but I'm assuming you're talking about Intuit.Ctg.Wte.Service.dll." Second, there's no such "productActivated" so I'm assuming you're referring to "ProduchActivationService?" Third, what to do after the "Compile" error? The only other option is to hit the "Cancel" button which makes no sense even going through this since it doesn't even save the progress, but undo everything already done. Thanks again.

I was able to successfully use DNSPY v.6.1.8 on Turbotax 2021 Individual that was just released. The old instructions (Turbotax 2020 and previous versions) are still applicable, with just one caveat. Intuit moved some of the modules around. I just used the search feature in DNSPY to find the new location. As before you will be opening the "Intuit.Ctg.Wte.Service.dll" file. However, instead of "Intuit.Ctg.Wte.Service.Activation" you will now look for "Intuit.Ctg.Wte.Service.ProductConfiguration". Then "IsProductActivationRequired" as the old instructions state... So overall, same steps as the old instruction....
