I don't use dorks that much anymore unless I've stumbled across something or my targets have dried up.  So many dorks are now defunct, and google has fucked their results so badly it's hard to justify messing with it other than just preliminary searches.

When you come across a site you want to target, do some basic recon.  Use dnsdumpster, censys, shodan, whatweb, wpscan, nuclei, etc. then search exploit-db for relevant vulnerabilities.

For SQL injection, if you want to scan a site, try using sqlmap w/ crawl and filling out forms.  Use your recon results to apply tampers or target specific known vulnerabilties.
