Staff are removing such malwares but sometimes it's too late and new people are infected.
Infected people's account are used to post similar malwares.
Something that can be done maybe :
1. If there is no VT link the thread deletes automatically
2. Section Mod In That section that needs to approve thread posted by new members.

honestly if people are retarded i think they should be burned by fire, i learned through making mistakes. It sucks but it teaches a good lesson of don't download a random exe from the internet. I downloaded a fuckton of malware when i was a kid and that taught me a good lesson.
Also id like to add, the virustotal reports are honestly making stuff worse in my opinion. People are posting zips/rars with passwords so it gets 0/66 or whatever. Or it shows a low score because its pyinstaller/pyarmor malware. I think we should switch to requiring any.run or hybrid analysis results as an alternative. just a thought tho
Also I don't think blocking all gray names from posting fixes that much, I saw another supreme member on the forum buy supreme for an alt and then use the alt to post malware and then proceed to like the posts. However it may fix the influx of malware, but then you run the risk they start flooding the other sections such as the coding section.

I agree something like that should be done but maybe a simpler solution is to make it so that only Premium and above can post any type of link without it being approved by at least two peers - so say a new member posts a link, then premium+ could see it (maybe with a warning message that it hasn't been vetted) and once 2-3 members of c.to that have some sorta rank (and hopefully, therefore, aren't stupid although I'm aware some people would still be infected) then it is made visible to everyone visiting the site

You're definitely right . . which is why I quoted and said you had a great point, but in playing devil's advocate I feel like someone should point out that time and setting in which you're taught that lesson can be a very big deal - in support of this topic, you have to agree with me that there is a very big difference between a kid playing around with his dad's old laptop on a forum and an accountant thinking that he has found a program to help him do something quicker at the new startup he is working for, or even worse maybe it's not a startup but a fuckin' giant company and he's using his work laptop at home and unknowingly brings the viruses back to work with him the next day to unleash on the entire network.
Not that I think C.to is responsible for any of that, I would wholeheartedly say that they aren't, but in the spirit of keeping people safe as opposed to making them learn the hard way it's just something I feel like should at least be acknowledged. In general I would agree with you to let people learn on their own that the internet is a big and scary place, however for a business like C.to we have to realize the scale of what we're talking about is far beyond the computer-kid just playing around and that there could be real consequences to things like the spread of malicious software..
