As i'm been told by staff member this is the place for doing these things so i'll leave my suggestion even if i think it won't be taken seriously for one second:
I personally think you should allow new users to create thread in the Marketplace section because in my point of view that'll give them the chance to earn the needed money to upgrade their account in case they're starting from scratch.

In case staff fears are related to the possible increase of scams from freshly made accounts i have some suggestions on requirements you can set:
Minimum of 30 posts
Registered from a month or more
Limit product price of their first thread to 25/50$ (excluded particular products)
For first thread require proof if possible (screenshot, vouch copy or something like this)
Promote the use of middlemen in case this forum has any official one

These are my ideas, probably already been suggested hundreds of times but maybe this is the lucky time who knows? kek

People scam for $5.

But to be fair. $10 to access a market of 900k users is more than fair. The website is not free to maintain.

Allowing new members / non upgraded members will increase in scam ! people will make multis and all !

So better is buy premium and start selling your stuffs there

Of course there are idiots willing to scam even for 1$ but what make you think a scammer won't scam just because he had spent 10$ on premium?
I'm new to this forum but not to these types of forums so i know how things works, i've just been out of marketplaces for the last year so i've spent all the btc i had
And don't wanna deal with paypal anymore in my life.
So i think you should allow everyone that really want it, to access the marketplace or put them in some marketplace trial this will give em the chance to make money for premium membership too.

Obviously i didn't expected anything different from your replies guys nor i was hoping in a rule change for a thread made by what is seen as a noob because of his post count reputation and like counters.

But deep inside you really knows bigger scams are made from trusted members that decide to place exit scams and what will prevent them to come back and do it again?
So don't pretend premium membership to be a scammer prevention  Smart

This sounds like an amazing idea, but I think that people will find a way around this.
