So I have everything working, however I do not know if it truly works...

I sent a test in a dm and server channel. I sent a fake https://discord.gift/16string to my friend in a dm and in a channel. He also sent me the same to see if it worked only when people send them not the client and nothing came up on the GUI. 

@ ProjectTrauma would you please explain why? How am I supposed to test this?

You did something wrong then. Look if in the config.txt file after auth_token that it doesn't contain 2 "" on 1 side.
so it's "tokencodeblabla245" and not ""tokencodeblabla245""
